Exciting Volunteer Opportunities with ‘AINA In Schools

Help ‘AINA In Schools and the Kokua Hawai‘i Foundation grow school gardens and healthy students! No experience necessary. Volunteers are needed to:
- Teach or assist monthly nutrition lessons for grades 2 and 6
- Teach or assist monthly garden lessons for grades K, 1, and 5
- Lead or assist weekly garden clubs, and help with garden care
- Participate in August Garden Party workdays to get the gardens ready for fall plantings

- Honolulu Schools: Monday, August 29th, 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
- Windward Schools: Wednesday, August 31st, 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
- North Shore Schools: Thursday, September 1st, 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
Garden Docent Training Dates::
- Honolulu Schools: Thursday, August 18th, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
- Windward Schools: Tuesday, August 23rd, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
- North Shore Schools: Thursday, August 25th, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
‘AINA In Schools Fall Garden Party Dates::
Join us as we “dig in” with ‘AINA IS schools in preparing their gardens for fall semester plantings.
- Saturday, Aug. 6: Sunset Beach Elementary & Wai’alae Public Charter School
- Saturday, Aug. 13: ‘Aikahi Elementary & Ala Wai Elementary
- Saturday, Aug. 20: Ahuimanu Elementary & Waikiki Elementary
- Saturday, Aug. 27: Kainalu Elementary & Waialua Elementary
