"Bag It" Plastic Free Schools Contest
"Bag It" is hosting the Plastic Free School Contest to inspire students grades 4-12 to reduce their own and their community’s use of single-use plastics in the form of bags, bottles, and other packaging, while participating in a fun, interactive project that will stimulate action and change.
The contest, sponsored by the Johnson 'Ohana Charitable Foundation, will encourage teachers and students to come up with creative, inventive projects and solutions that students can do in their communities.
The two team leaders and mentor for the winning entry will get to attend Algalita Marine Research Foundation's Plastic Oceans Pollution Solutions International Youth Summit in the fall of 2013. The best elementary school submission, middle school submission and high school submission will each receive an Elkay® EZH2O™ Rapid Bottle Fill Station to be installed in their school! And the winning school will also receive a personal thank you from Kōkua Hawai'i Foundation's co-founder Jack Johnson congratulating them on their efforts.
Contest submissions are due by March 15, 2013. For more details visit Bag It Plastic Free School Contest.
