Save the Dates: Statewide Farm to School Conference
June 1 - June 2, 2012 Oʻahu

The 5th Annual Hawaiʻi Farm to School Conference “Growing From the Ground Up” will be held on Oʻahu, on June 1st and 2nd, 2012. This year’s conference is hosted by Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation, Hawaiʻi Association of Independent Schools, and Waikīkī Elementary School and will include visits to other farm to school sites on Oʻahu. Plenary sessions, workshops, and field trips (Huakaʻi) will focus on hands-on topics relevant to establishing thriving school garden and farm to school programs, including such topics as soil building, curriculum connections, fundraising, community building, and more.

- Conference spaces are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority spaces going to school-based educators.
- You will receive confirmation regarding your acceptance by April 30.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
Conference organizers have partnered with Aqua Maile Skycourt Hotel in Waikiki and reserved a block of rooms at a rate of $50 per person, double occupancy, for two nights. Attendees may check in after 3:00 pm Thursday, 5/31 and must check out Saturday, 6/2 before 11:00 am. If you would like to book a room at this rate, please do so through the conference registration form or by contacting aina@kokuahawaiifoundation.org. DO NOT call the hotel directly. NOTE: In filling rooms, we will give priority to attendees traveling from neighbor islands. Attendees from O’ahu may also request a room but will be placed on a waiting list.
FEES:
All conference fees are non-refundable and must be received by Thursday, May 3.
Conference Registration: $50. Includes conference materials and breakfast and lunch on both conference days.
