Kōkua General Store - Halloween Costume Swap 

While dressing up and decorating the house is fun, there is nothing spookier than creating a lot of unnecessary waste. Green your Halloween this year by particiapting in our Costume Swap in the Kōkua General Store! Swap out a preloved costume with a *new* preloved costume. What: Halloween Costume Swap!
When: Saturday, October 22 11am-3pm
Where: Kōkua General Store 66-249 Kamehameha Hwy in Haleʻiwa town      

1. How do I participate in the swap?
To participate, you will need to drop-off at least one full costume by coming into the Kōkua General Store from October 1st-22nd. We are open Thursday-Saturday, 11-3pm. Upon drop off, you will receive a ticket that allows you to swap for a costume on event day, October 22nd. You will receive a ticket for every costume that you drop off, up to a maximum of three. We are also now accepting costumes on the day of the event- so you can bring in your costume on October 22 and trade for another!  

2. What if I don’t have any costumes to swap?
No worries! During the event on October 22nd you will be able to purchase a costume for $10.00.

3. What kind of costumes can I donate?
We are accepting donations for washed, gently-used, PG costumes of any size that are in good condition (no stains, rips, etc.). Please no wigs, no items representing cultural appropriation (afros, tribal accessories, hula costumes, etc.) and no weapons.

4. How many costumes can I swap? 
You can swap a maximum of 3 costumes–bring up to 3 of your favorites to trade, and be able to choose up to 3 “new” ones!

5. When and where do I drop off my costumes?
Drop off your costumes at the Kōkua General Store, 66-249 Kamehameha Hwy, Haleiwa, HI 96712, during store hours anytime before the day of the event (or day of) October 1st-22nd. We are open Thursday-Saturday, 11-3pm. Feel free to donate a few spare hangers to help stock our stash for the event. We will not be collecting any other forms of clothing or donations. We are also now accepting costumes on the day of the event- so you can bring in your costume on October 22 and trade for another!

6. Can I take more than 3 items?
We respectfully ask that you only take a maximum of 3 items. This is a community event, and we want to ensure that everyone who participates has the opportunity to find a costume that they love.

7. Can I try on costumes at the swap?    
Yes! We have fitting rooms available in the store.
