We are encouraging ALL Hawaii Middle and High Schools to bring at least 1 team (3 students and 1 teacher) to attend the Hawaiʻi Youth Challenge 2020 Design Thinking Activity. Students and teachers will: - Learn from international professionals about real conservation challenges facing the Hawaiian Islands and the world - Apply scientific principles to design, evaluate, and refine frameworks to develop environmentally-conscious decisions for Hawaiʻi schools and communities. - Brainstorm and collaborate with peers from around the state to develop long-term conservation projects for schools The Students’ Day Hawaiʻi Youth Challenge 2020 will include: 9:00 - 9:15 Welcome by special guests 9:20 - 10:30 Rotation through a series of discussions/presentations with international experts about conservation challenges facing the world 10:30 - 12:00 Design Thinking Activity with Oceanit 12:00 - 1:00 Lunch, wrap up, and possible next steps More details on the event, travel scholarships, and registration to be sent out in July 2016.
