3rd Annual We Grow Hawaiʻi Conference
March 23, 2018
The 3rd Annual We Grow Hawaiʻi student-led school garden conference brought together students, parents, educators, musicians and community partners to celebrate school gardens across Oʻahu through the voice of students! Students worked in teams to prepare a healthy, brunch using garden and farm-fresh local produce. We enjoyed a feast of kalo hash, curry fried rice, energy bites, citrus and herb flavored water, yogurt and local fruit parfait, and farm-fresh microgreens donated by Mahina Pua Farm. Students of Asian Pacific International School, Blanche Pope Elementary, Jefferson Elementary, Kailua Intermediate, Kāneʻohe Elementary, SEEQS, and the Lanikai Science Squad presented with other students about their school garden experiences and sustainability projects in their schools. Finally, we were treated to a concert by the Banana Slug String Band. Mahalo to ʻIolani School and Hawaiʻi Farm to School Hui for hosting another inspiring We Grow Hawaiʻi conference!
