ʻĀINA In Schools Professional Development Opportunities for Educators

August 05, 2019

The 2018-19 school year had 48 teachers from 28 schools complete our ʻĀINA In Schools PDE3 courses in nutrition, gardening and composting in partnership with the Windward Academy for CTE! A highlight of the year included the We Grow Hawaiʻi conference and student garden project showcase. Our field trips to farms and established agriculture programs including loʻi at Kākoʻo ʻŌiwi, Leilehua High School Natural Resources CTE Agricultural Learning Center, and Sweet Land Farm.

By signing up for our ʻĀINA In Schools PDE3 courses, educators are provided with the teaching tools they need to get their students motivated to make healthy choices for themselves and the planet. ʻĀINA In Schools curriculum is aligned with Hawaiʻi State DOE standards making the hands-on application of classroom-taught core lessons seamless. The PDE3 courses are a fun way to provide educational opportunities for your students that extend beyond the confines of classroom walls and help your students meaningfully invest in their education.
