March was another great month for Aloha ʻĀina Recycling Drives. Kalāheo High School and Waiʻanae Elementary school hosted with 38 student, teacher, and parent volunteers. Kalāheo High School, in particular, rescued high volumes of materials. They brought in 30 gallons of cooking oil, filled the scrap metal container to the brim, and had so much eWaste for recycling that two separate trucks were required to remove it all from the school.
The schools also collected batteries, gently used clothing and household items, and more from the community. For the full schedule of upcoming recycling drives, click here. All Aloha ʻĀina Recycling Drives are held on Saturdays from 9:00am - 12:00pm. Upcoming recycling drives in 2017 are:
E-Waste collection on April 8: We are partnering with Goodwill Hawaiʻi and Dell to host a Dell Reconnect eWaste only recycling drive at Stevenson Middle School (1202 Prospect St, Honolulu, HI 96822) on April 8th from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Any brand of used TV and computer equipment in any condition and just about anything that can be connected to a computer will be accepted, including monitors, computers (desktop & laptop), printers, scanners, hard drives (external or internal), keyboards, mice, speakers, cords & cables, software, ink and toner cartridges. Cell phones will also accepted.
