September 02, 2021
Are you a high school student who is passionate about the environment? The Hawaiʻi Youth Sustainability Challenge (HYSC) is an initiative of Kupu and Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation that empowers Hawaiʻi youth to create solutions to conservation and sustainability challenges in their schools and communities. The solutions to the challenges, either identified by the students themselves or by community partners, must be student-driven. Selected students must be in grades 9-12 and will receive funding for supplies and materials (up to $1,000), mentorship, and training to support their innovative and grassroots environmental initiatives. Applications are now open for the 2021-2022 school year! The deadline to apply is October 8, 2021. Interested students are encouraged to attend the virtual HYSC Readiness Workshops for inspiration, support and technical assistance. Learn more about HYSC HERE and make your ideas a reality!
