Duke’s OceanFest
August 28, 2019
Waikiki was even busier than usual August 17-25th as its waters hosted Duke’s OceanFest. The annual festival, honoring legendary Hawaiian waterman Duke Paoa Kahanaumoku, is comprised of several ocean events including surfboard water polo, traditional alaia surfboard exhibition, tandem surf contests, swim races… the list goes on and on! Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation was there for the first time in the event’s history, supplying our Plastic Free Hawaiʻi Water Station for participants and spectators alike. Thanks to everyone who came on down for some plastic free fun in the sun!
