Easy Homemade Cocoa Coconut Ice Cream

A great cool sweet treat for those hot and humid summer days! Easy homemade Cocoa Coconut Ice Cream shared with Waialua students during an ʻĀINA Chef Visit at their school.


  • 3 frozen bananas (hint: peel the bananas before you freeze them)
  • 2 tbsp organic cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk (choose fresh or frozen instead of a can with additives)
  • Toppings: fresh fruit, chopped nuts, or toasted coconut 


  1. Cut frozen bananas into two halves
  2. Blend bananas, cocoa powder, coconut milk, and vanilla until smooth
  3. Scoop into a bowl and eat right away or place mixture into a freezer-safe container for 1-2 hours to enjoy later.
  4. Enjoy with fresh fruits, chopped nuts, or toasted coconut.
