'ĀINA In Schools Program Coordinator
The Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation (KHF) is seeking applicants for a Program Coordinator position for its ʻĀINA In Schools Program. “ʻĀINA” (Actively Integrating Nutrition and Agriculture) In Schools is a farm to school initiative that connects children to their land, food, and water for a healthier Hawaiʻi. Primary activities will center on supporting and strengthening the ʻĀINA In Schools program and its six program components: garden-based learning, nutrition education, farm field trips, healthy food choices on campus, waste reduction, and school & community outreach. Coordinator should have experience with the components of ʻĀINA as well as experience developing and implementing educational programs. Coordinator should be experienced working with school administration, faculty, students, community groups, and volunteers, with a passion for farm to school issues including education, environment, healthy foods, agriculture, and sustainability. Coordinator will be based out of Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation’s North Shore office and will need to attend school lessons, trainings, events, workshops, and meetings at various locations around Oʻahu frequently. Must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time and lift 50+ pounds. One full-time or two part-time positions are available and will begin in September 2019. Pay starts at $17 per hour and may increase based on qualifications and experience. Includes medical benefits for employees working an average of over 19 hours/week.
