Kōkua Learning Farm Workdays
June 02, 2022
We welcomed lots of community members and partners to the Kōkua Learning Farm this past month! We started off with a large and energetic community workday where we tended the loʻi and constructed native wetland. The following week we worked alongside Sustainable Coastlines Hawaiʻi and MAʻO Organic Farms to prepare and plant a section of our kalo loʻi. On May 20th, we celebrated World Bee Day with our resident beekeeper Hānai Hives and the program’s participating families for a fun day of pollinator activities. For the final workday in May, Patagonia and Pilina Education Alliance’s Paths 2 Purpose program joined us as we weeded the native plants along our swale and planted some veggie rows. Mahalo to all of our partners and community members for joining us in May!
