Mililani High Selected as Next Farm to School Site
February 16, 2018
Mililani High School is the next participant in the ʻAina Pono Farm to School program. Mililani High is Hawaiʻi DOE’s second largest food production site. It provides about 2,500 school lunches daily for approximately 1,000 high school students and an additional 1,500 students at Mililani Uka and Mililani Waena Elementary Schools. The goals of the program are to increase local purchasing, scratch cooked meals, and student participation; remain cost-neutral; and decrease food waste. Over the past two weeks, Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation and Mililani student volunteers have been doing lunchtime waste audits to gather baseline data for the program. Click here to read more.
