Plastic Free Hawaiʻi School Mural Art Show Join Us & Vote for Your Favorite!

April 21, 2021

Students from across Hawaiʻi have entered the 2021 Plastic Free Hawaiʻi School Mural Contest! This year, the theme was UNITY. Students and school groups incorporated marine debris, plastic bottle caps, and any other plastic items collected from cleanups or recycling drives to create inspiring murals to evoke issues surrounding plastic pollution.

Join us on Earth Day, Thursday April 22, Friday April 23 and Saturday April 24 at the Kōkua General Store (66-249 Kamehameha Hwy, Haleʻiwa, HI) to view the murals in person and help us choose the winner!

Thursday, April 22 & Friday April 23: 1:00pm-5:00pm

Saturday, April 24: 11:00am-3:00pm

The grand prize winner will receive a water refill station for their school and a virtual presentation from Upcycle Hawaiʻi for their class. Runners-up will receive gifts from Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation and Upcycle Hawaiʻi for their participation. If you can not make it to the Plastic Free Hawaiʻi Art Show, help us choose a winner using this form. Stay tuned for the announcement of this year’s winners!

Seven submissions were entered from Hahaʻione Elementary, Hawaiʻi School for the Deaf & Blind, Ilima Intermediate, Kahaluʻu Elementary, Island Pacific Academy, Mililani High, and St. Andrew's Schools
