Plastic Free Hawaiʻi School Mural Contest Winner!

Congratulations to Lanakila Elementary School for their outstanding “Mālama Honua” mural. The students were inspired by Hōkūleʻa and Hikianalia's 3 year trip around the world to spread the word of being stewards of Island Earth. Lanakila Elementary School's “From Waste to Resource” message is that everyone can help keep plastic out of our oceans. No good deed of aloha (or bottle cap) is ever too small. 

As a grand prize winner, Lanakila Elementary will receive a water refill station for their school, a presentation from Upcycle Hawaiʻi for the participating students, and the chance to display their mural on June 23-25 at the Honolulu Museum of Art in the Garden Club of Honolulu Flower Show

Congratulations to the 14 mural entries from 13 schools, all received Plastic Free Hawaiʻi prizes for their participation. You are ALL winners in our eyes!
