Simplify the Holidays

January 07, 2020

ʻĀINA Schools Haleʻiwa and Sunset Beach Elementary hosted Simplify the Holidays Family Nights with Master Food Preserver Terri Langley of Bliss Healthy Foods where families learned how to make their own Herbal Seasoned Salt. Families also got to enjoy a variety of Simplify the Holidays activities and ideas
to inspire a greener holiday season that’s more about meaning than “stuff.” A highlight at SBES was the marine debris printing and stamp art activity led by Ethan Estess, artist/scientist, and creator of the Plastic Free Wave art installation displayed at ʻEhukai Beach Park as part of the Billabong Pipe Masters. (See his Plastic Free Pipeline sculpture on display now at Bishop Museum’s Mai Kinohi Mai exhibit.)  Stacey G Jewelry shared her passion for Marine Debris Art with a Marine Debris ornament and necklace making activity.
