#StopSucking for a Strawless Ocean
August 31, 2017
Celebrities like Adrian Grenier and Van Jones are pledging to #StopSucking on straws. Check out the new PSA here and take the #StopSucking Pledge today at this link. 500 million plastic straws are used every day in the U.S.! Many of those plastic straws end up in our oceans, polluting the water and harming sea life. If we don’t act now, by 2050 plastics in the ocean will outweigh the fish. One small change can have a big impact: #stopsucking on plastic straws. Use the hashtags #StopSucking #StrawlessOcean #PlasticFreeHawaii to share your support and pledge to go plastic straw free on social media!
Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation is an official collaborator of the Strawless Ocean project launched by The Lonely Whale Foundation. With dozens of partner organizations around the world joining this campaign, the project aims to inspire individual and institutional change to dramatically reduce the use of single-use plastic straws.
