Join us by volunteering with Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation! We invite you to be a part of our mission to support environmental education in our schools and communities.  As a volunteer, you’ll have the chance to participate in exciting projects alongside our dedicated staff. This can range from engaging in Community Workdays at the Kōkua Learning Farm, helping with our community events, and assisting in program supply preparation, among many other opportunities. Your dedication is invaluable in our efforts to nurture the Kokua Learning Farm, support our staff in running programs and community events at the Kōkua General Store, ʻĀINA Farm Stand, and Kōkua Community Center.

Kōkua Learning Farm Community Workdays

Join us by volunteering at a Kōkua Learning Farm Community  Workday! Community Workdays take place on the first Saturday of each month. Projects may include but are not limited to: opala pick up, mulching, weeding, trimming, planting and harvesting. Please fill out the following form for yourself, and remind anyone planning to attend to also register in this form, so that we can monitor attendance for the workday. Supervised Keiki are welcome. If you are affiliated with a group that would like to plan a private volunteer workday at the Kōkua Learning Farm please email [email protected] for more information.

All volunteers must register in this form, and our Liability and Media Waiver linked out to from this form, to attend a workday.

We offer unique internship opportunities to gain hands-on experience and contribute to our mission of fostering sustainability and environmental education in Hawaiʻi. If you’re interested in local agriculture and food systems, social media and social enterprise, or supporting our farm field trips, our internships offer a platform for personal and professional growth.  Join us in making a lasting impact on our islands while building a brighter, more sustainable future.

We love our Volunteers!

Jim and Kim Slagel are long time friends of the Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation. They led the Kamehameha Schools Tree Hugger Club in greening several of our past Kōkua Festivals, always adorning colorful tie dye bandanas on our Zero Waste Station volunteers. Jim and Kim are now regulars on the Kōkua Learning Farm as wonderful Tuesday Morning Volunteers!

February Volunteer Highlight

Evan joins us at almost every Kōkua Learning Farm Community Workday, Tuesday Morning Farm Care and has volunteered at our Kōkua General Store Events. Evan shared, “I love coming to Kōkua because it is the hub of my community. Not only have I connected to some of the most vibrant humans of the Hawaiʻi farm scene, but I’ve also met countless friends.

Roberta is a fantastic Tuesday Morning Farm Care Volunteer, who has also joined us for program supply prep, and a variety of our Kōkua General Store Events. We appreciate her willingness to help out wherever it is needed! She is a great new member of our volunteer team.

Welcome Ruby! Ruby first joined our Tuesday Morning Farm Care group, then generously offered to help with other KHF volunteer needs. She is a wonderful addition to our ʻĀINA Supply Volunteer group, and Kōkua General Store Event Volunteers too. Mahalo Ruby!!

In addition to Lori and her son Levin’s dedicated volunteer work with our morning farm care group, Lori is the owner of The Soap Cellar in Haleʻiwa, and provides her locally made soaps to the Kōkua General Store.Levin is an alumni of the Kōkua Learning Farm Youth Internship! August Volunteer Highlight

Living within walking distance of the Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation and noticing some activity on site, Brooke and her sister Emily stopped by to see how they could help out. Since then they have joined our volunteer team to help out in so many ways! ʻĀINA supply prep, the Plastic Free Hawaiʻi Art Show, Earth Day Activities, Tuesday Morning Farm Care, and our monthly community Kōkua Learning Farm Workdays. We are so grateful Brooke and Emily stopped by to offer help. We are keeping them busy!
