Kōkua Learning Farm Internship Updates

Our Spring Youth Internship has been a blast! Youth Interns have continued their journey as mahiʻai on the Kōkua Learning Farm. This month, interns built a hoop-house where they planted cucumbers. They also built a trellis inside the hoop-house to support the cucumber’s growth! They helped seed flower trays and planted Pia, ʻŌlena, Chinese Cabbage, and Sunflowers into the fields. This week, interns focused on the Kalo Library where they learned about the different parts of kalo, planted kalo huli and weeded.

We love our time with our youth interns on the farm! Mahalo to all of our interns who learn with us each week.
