Kōkua Learning Farm Field Trips in November!

Haleʻiwa Elementary School and the Kōkua Learning Farm are continuing to build pilina this fall semester with all students from all grade levels visiting the farm! In November, 3rd graders joined us for a morning of learning about compost, students fed our lateral flow worm bins and got hands-on about bokashi composting. Check out our Gr.3 Composting Curriculum for insights on their activities. 6th graders also joined us on the farm in November! Their morning was spent amending garden beds, planting, agroforestry exploration, roselle hibiscus harvesting and tea tasting. With Haleʻiwa Elementary only a mile away from the Kōkua Learning Farm, it has been a beautiful experience connecting with them and sharing our space. We look forward to continuing to build our relationship with the neighboring school.
