In celebration of heading back to school, our friends at Johnson ʻOhana Foundation (also founded by Kim and Jack Johnson, learn more below) will match qualifying music and arts requests as part of a DonorsChoose campaign.
If you are a teacher seeking funding to support a music and/or arts project in your classroom, please consider posting a funding request via DonorsChoose. The JOF match campaign will launch August 10, 2026. Funds may run out by early September, so we recommend getting your project posted as soon as possible.

Criteria:
1. Teach full time at an eligible historically underfunded public school, public charter school, or Head Start center. For more information on whether your school qualifies check out this article.
2. You have not received previous funding on DonorsChoose.
3. Create a Music & Arts project request for the following materials: musical instruments and art supplies. Here are some examples:
– Art supplies for your classroom such as acrylic paint sets, watercolor sets, brushes, canvases, drawing paper, sketchbooks, easels, ect
– Providing a classroom set of instruments such as ukuleles, drums, guitars, tambourines, ect
– Digital art tools including tablets with styluses and graphic design software licenses to integrate modern art techniques into your curriculum
4. Keep your total project goal under $700, including taxes, shipping, fees, and the suggested donation to support DonorsChoose.
5. Once your project is approved, donations will be doubled while funding remains. That means a $25 donation will become a $50 donation!
