Farm to School Month on the Kōkua Learning Farm

We can’t think of a better way to celebrate Farm to School Month than having students on the farm through the Kōkua Learning Farm Field Trip and Youth Internship programs! We welcomed 80 Lāʻie Elementary 3rd graders in late September through early October and 72 students from Haleʻiwa Elementary School from grades K, 1, & 3. These experiences get keiki outdoors and help them understand the importance of eating fresh, local foods.

15 high school students are spending their Wednesday afternoons at the Kōkua Learning Farm Youth Internship Program! This month they learned about the importance of native plants, agroforest fruit producing practices, cooking fresh produce in the kitchen, and how bees create honey, honey comb, and how they play an integral role on the Kōkua Learning Farm. If you or your child are interested in joining the next Kōkua Learning Farm Youth Internship Program cohort, fill out this interest form today!

Interested in sponsoring a farm field trip for an entire class or one high school student to participate in our high school internship program? We encourage you to support this year’s Kōkua Learning FarmRAISER and create more impactful farm experiences.
