Our Impact

Kōkua Learning Farm Youth Internship Program

We are excited to welcome the next cohort of youth interns to participate in the Kōkua Learning Farm Youth Internship program. Students in grades 9-12 on Oʻahu are encouraged to apply. Interns meet weekly at the Kōkua Learning Farm in Haleʻiwa. During this 15-week program, students will gain experience as mahiʻai through on-farm training building skills and knowledge around agroecology, crop cultivation, fruit and vegetable production, soil health, and culinary explorations. OUR PROGRAMS

The 3R’s School Recycling Program empowers students to engage and educate their school community about the 3R’s (reduce-reuse-recycling).

Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation Field Trip Grants help bring students to outdoor sites where they can experience hands-on learning about Hawaiʻi’s environment.

Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation Project Grants fund projects and teachers from Hawaiʻi schools to assist in advancing their environmental goals in the classroom and pursue stewardship endeavors.

ʻĀINA In Schools is a farm to school initiative that connects children to their local land, waters, and food to grow a healthier Hawaiʻi.

Plastic Free Hawai‘i provides resources, tools, and trainings to educate schools, business partners, and community members about the environmental and health benefits of going plastic free to minimize single-use plastics in our islands.

The Youth Internship program provides on-farm training to build skills around agroecology, food production, soil health & culinary explorations.

Our Fourth Farm to Table Dinner on the Kōkua Learning Farm

We hosted our fourth Farm to Table Dinner on the Kōkua Learning Farm in partnership with our friends at Rivian and Chef Sean Congdon of Aloha Culinary Group! Celebrating Plastic Free July 2024

To kickstart Plastic Free July in our community, we hosted a Plastic Free Hawaiʻi Beach Cleanup July 6, 2024 at Kaiaka Bay Beach Park in Haleʻiwa. With the help of over 60 volunteers, we successfully collected 173 lbs of debris along our shorelines. Of that debris, we collected and donated 32 lbs were redeemable HI-5 Learn more
