ʻĀINA In Schools is a farm to school initiative launched in 2006 that connects children to their local land, waters, and food to grow a healthier Hawaiʻi. 

This training is open to all K-6 teachers using a hybrid model with in-person training sessions held on Oʻahu. In all virtual sessions, participants will be expected to engage via video-conferencing (Zoom) and collaborative documents (e.g. Google Docs). Participants will receive 3 PDE3 credits. 

 

Space is limited, please register via Learnsoft. There is a $100 course fee*

Required Dates:

Class 1 (Virtual)

Friday, July 10

9-11am

Virtual Orientation and PDE3 Logistics

 

Class 2, 3, & 4 (In-Person)

Wednesday, July 15 – Friday, July 17

8:30-2:30pm at the Kōkua Learning Farm

About Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation, Nutrition, Garden, and Compost Curriculum training & Building a Culture of ʻĀINA at your school

*Garden-Based Learning & Compost Participants must be able to implement garden lessons at their school via outdoor or indoor garden system with the approval of their school administrator.

Attend one (1) of three (3) virtual lesson planning sessions/LRP Support:

Session 1: Thursday, August 7, 4-6pm

Session 2: Thursday, September 4, 4-6pm

Session 3: Thursday, October 2, 4-6pm

 

Class 6 (Virtual)

Thursday, November 19

4-6pm
