Kōkua General Store Clothing Drive, Giveaway & Fundraiser

Join us in our Kōkua Community Center from Wednesday, April 29th through Saturday, May 2nd from 10am-2pm daily for a special Flood Relief Clothing Drive in support of our North Shore community.

Why a Clothing Drive for Flood Relief?

In times of need, community support matters. Rather than a traditional swap, this clothing drive is an opportunity to give what you can to those who are in need, helping ensure that those impacted by the floods have access to quality, preloved clothing.

If you were affected, please bring a valid ID, and you will be able to come by to pick up some new clothes free of charge from 4/29-5/2. In mindfulness of others, we ask that those attending only take a maximum of 10 items.

If you weren’t affected by the flood, you can still purchase items from our clothing pop-up for $5.00 each on Saturday, 5/2.

When and where do I bring my items to the Clothing Drive?

To participate, bring your clean, gently-used clothing to the Kōkua General Store (located in our Kōkua Community Center) between Tuesday, April 21st through Tuesday, April 28th during our regular store hours.

Drop Off:

Kōkua General Store (temporarily located in the Kōkua Community Center)

66-249 Kamehameha Hwy, Haleiwa, HI 96712

Tuesday-Thursday, 11am-5pm

Friday-Saturday, 10am-3pm

Can I bring my items the day of the event?

We kindly ask you to not drop off any items the day of the event, as setup and organization needs to happen in advance by our staff. Mahalo for your understanding!

How many items can I donate to the Clothing Drive?

You can bring as many clean, gently-used items as you want.

What kind of items can I donate to the Clothing Drive?

We are accepting clean, gently-used clothing in good condition (Ex. Dresses, pants, blouses, shirts, jackets, sweaters, athletic wear etc.)! We are not accepting unwashed, poor-condition, significantly stained or ripped items. We are also not accepting accessories, shoes, or undergarments. Please do not donate these items to the swap; they will be turned down.

*A good rule of thumb is to bring items that you’d feel comfortable gifting to a friend!*

What about kids and men’s clothing?

Yes! Along with womens clothing, we are accepting kids and mens clothing in good condition.

Can I try on clothes at the Clothing Drive?

Yes, space is limited, but we have two bathrooms available in our Community Space where you may try up to 10 items at a time.

What happens to the leftover items?

Clothing not taken will be added to the Kōkua Vintage $5 bin or added to the Kōkua Vintage racks! Other leftover items will be donated to local schools, charities and nonprofits.
