Kōkua General Store Clothing Drive, Giveaway & Fundraiser

Join us in our Kōkua Community Center for a special Flood Relief Clothing Event in support of our North Shore community. This initiative includes three parts: a Clothing Drive, Clothing Giveaway, and Fundraiser, all in support of those impacted by the Kona Low Storms.

Event Overview

  • Clothing Drive (April 21–April 28) Donate your new or clean, gently-used clothing to support our community.
  • Clothing Giveaway (April 29–May 1 | 10am–2pm daily) For those directly impacted by the Kona Low Storms, you are invited to come and select clothing free of charge.
  • Clothing Fundraiser (Saturday, May 2 | 10am–2pm) For those who were not directly impacted but would still like to support, come shop the remaining clothing items from the drive and our Kōkua General Store inventory. All proceeds from the day will be donated to Lāhui Foundation.

FAQs

When and where do I bring my items to the Clothing Drive?

To participate, bring your new or clean, gently-used clothing to the Kōkua General Store (located in our Kōkua Community Center) between Tuesday, April 21st through Tuesday, April 28th during our regular store hours.

Drop Off:

Kōkua General Store (temporarily located in the Kōkua Community Center)

66-249 Kamehameha Hwy, Haleiwa, HI 96712

Tuesday-Friday, 11am-5pm

Saturday, 10am-3pm

How many items can I donate to the Clothing Drive?

You can donate as many new or clean, gently-used items as you want.

What kind of items can I donate to the Clothing Drive?

We are accepting:

  • New or clean, gently-used clothing (dresses, pants, tops, jackets, sweaters, athletic wear, shoes, etc.)
  • Women’s, men’s, and children’s clothing

At this time, our greatest needs are children’s clothing and shoes, as these items are especially needed for families impacted by the Kona Low Storms.

We are not accepting:

  • Unwashed or damaged items
  • Heavily stained or ripped clothing
  • Undergarments

A good rule of thumb is to bring items you would feel comfortable gifting to a friend!

Can I try on clothes during the Clothing Giveaway and Fundraiser?

Yes, space is limited, but we have two bathrooms available in our Community Space where you may try up to 10 items at a time.

What happens to the leftover items?

All leftover items will be donated to Goodwill Hawaiʻi to further support flood victims.

All proceeds from the Clothing Fundraiser and sales at the Kōkua General Store on Saturday, May 2 will be donated to Lāhui Foundation.
