Why a Book, Puzzle & Game Swap?
We strive to encourage reusing and extending the lifespan of our items. Swaps reduce landfill waste and help rehome pre-loved items!
When and where do I bring my books, puzzles, & games to swap?
We ask that you bring your gently-loved, good condition books, puzzles & games to the Kōkua General Store located in the Kōkua Community Center, between Friday, October 2nd through Friday, October 9th during regular store hours.

Can I bring books, puzzles, & games the day of the event?
Please drop off your items before the day of the event, as setup and organization needs to happen in advance by our staff. Mahalo for your understanding!
How many books, puzzles, & games can I swap?
You can bring as many books, puzzles, & games as you like, but we ask that you only swap/take home a maximum of 10 items. This is a community event, and we want to ensure that everyone who participates has the opportunity to find something they love.
What kinds of items are you accepting?
Books
We are accepting gently-loved books in good condition in all genres and age ranges, including keiki books! We are not accepting severely damaged books (ripped-out pages, falling-apart spines, badly stained, etc). We are also not accepting books with explicit, suggestive, or gory images.
Puzzles & Games
We are accepting puzzles and games with plenty of play left, in good, working condition with no missing pieces. We are also not accepting games and puzzles with explicit, suggestive, or gory images.
What if I don’t bring books to the swap but I see something I like?
No problem, you will be able to purchase children’s books for $1.00 each and all other items for $2.00 each. All proceeds will go to Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation.
What happens to the leftover books, puzzles & games?
Books not swapped will be added to our Kōkua Vintage section with 100% of proceeds going to support Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation, or our KHF Little Free Library! Other leftover items will be donated to local libraries, including the Waialua Public Library, schools, charities, and nonprofits.
