Celebrate the ʻĀINA Farm Stand’s second anniversary, and give old clothing a fresh new life! Join us at the ĀINA Farm Stand on November 14 from 10am-1:30pm for a Turmeric Dye Bath!
Bring your natural fiber clothing and learn how simple plant-based dye techniques can completely transform pieces you already own. Made with dehydrated ʻōlena (turmeric) from the Kōkua Learning Farm, this process dyes natural fibers a brilliant yellow.
It’s a creative reminder that sometimes our favorite “new” clothes are already hanging in our closet. Bring a clean item made from natural fibers to dye, like:
- Cotton
- Linen
- Hemp
- Canvas
- Silk
- Wool
$5.00 donation per item dyed, with 100% of proceeds supporting Kōkua Hawai’i Foundation. We kindly ask you to bring no large or dense items to dye, such as bedsheets, towels, or sweatshirts.
Please arrive by 1:30 pm to allow for adequate time for the dyeing process.
