Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation’s Home in Haleʻiwa
Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation’s has a permanent home! In 2019, KHF acquired 8 acres of land in the heart of Haleʻiwa on the North Shore of Oʻahu. We are establishing agricultural, educational, and retail activities that benefit the community and promote local food, waste reduction, and environmental stewardship. The property houses the Kōkua Community Center, the Kōkua Learning Farm and three mission-aligned businesses, the Kōkua General Store, Kōkua Vintage and the ʻĀINA Farm Stand.
Mahalo to all the volunteers, businesses and community partners who are supporting us in making this vision come to life!

Covering 7 acres with a variety of different eco-zones, the Kōkua Learning Farm has plenty of room to showcase several different aspects of our local food system. The Kōkua Learning Farm will include production fields, an orchard, Hawaiian gardens & loʻi, native constructed wetlands, ʻĀINA In Schools demonstration gardens, a compost area and more that will provide educational opportunities for keiki and community. It is our hope that this farm will blossom into an educational and agricultural destination, encouraging learners of all ages to actively support their local food system.

Please check out our Kōkua Learning Farm Conceptual Site Plan Report, prepared by Townscape, for more details. A special MAHALO to the community partners who provided manaʻo in the development of this report.

The stand will also serve as a CSA (community supported agriculture) and CSF (community supported fisheries) pick up location.

The Kōkua Backyard Garden will be a welcoming edible and native landscape where the community can come to learn and draw inspiration to cultivate household food production and composting skills. This space was created in partnership by WATG as part of their Deserving Designs Award! We are planning to dig in to this space end of 2023.

The Kōkua Community Center will be a gathering place for the community to learn, share skills, stories and ideas, through workshops, classes and other learning opportunities!
